Note 1: In very small schools, the full school roll may be one classroom. This will be charged at the full school roll rate.
Note 2: This is based upon the total number of students in Years 5 – 10. If numbers cannot be provided, it will be based on a reasonable proportion of the total roll. This will be:
½ of all students in a Year 1 – 8 school,
2/3 of all students in a Year 1 – 6 school,
2/3 of all students in a Year 7 -13 school,
½ of all students in a year 9 – 13 school,
1/3 of all students in a Year 1 -13 school,
all students in an intermediate, middle or junior high school.
If this resource has been purchased for all students in Years 5 -10, teachers above or below this range are welcome to use the resource.
The first level is for students whose inferencing skills are very weak, and who have little or no concept of paragraph structure.
The second level builds on this, to the most basic requirements of NCEA level 1.
The third level builds sophisticated comprehension and critical thinking skills, and advanced aspects of paragraph and essay structure. Few students are likely to need this in their first year.
